The Apprentice Season 6 - James Sun

If you are the fans of The Apprentice, for sure you have watched the season 6 as well. The Apprentice season 6 is definitely different if compare with the past Apprentice or even the latest season 7 Apprentice. What's make season 6 so different? From the past Apprentice or for the latest season 7 Apprentice, people are just talking about the final winner. But, for Apprentice season 6, the situation is opposite as I noticed that people are talked more about the second runner-up, James Sun more than the final winner. Of course I understand why, as myself also talked lots about James after watched the Apprentice 6. We all also thought that James deserves as the final winner. He has the good quality of attitute, creative mind & is a successful entrepreneur. Thus, I starting to question Mr. TD judgement in choosing his apprentice. Why he want to refuse such a good quality candidate, James? It's really a unsolvable doubt. But, I also have heard another comment is that they think James is the employer and Stephanie is the employee, thus this is the reason Mr. DT hired Stephanie than James.

During the 1st week of the job interview, James is well known as a successful internet executive. The first task is the car wash competition and Heidi's team (Kinetic) which make the more money win. I think Frank's team (Arrow) lose is due to few factors as well. During the task, he is too rushing in planning and thus caused their team lack of direction and did not have a proper pricing setup. Furthermore, he did not delegate the responsibilities to his team members well. The flyers he made was another mistake in this task, although he had changed to get a sign instead of flyers after 2/3 of the day, yet this is very time consuming for his team. I think marketing should play a vital role in this task, Frank should think of promotion for the customer. Just like Heidi’s team did, they provided free lunch if the customer sign up for 4 star package. James is very energetic and passion in promoting the car washes, he even successfully impressed Ivanka in the boardroom. The first person being fired is Martin, I personally think that Martin attitude is bad and I felt annoying when the way he defending himself. He's too fake in personality to me.

The second task is also related to sales which is swimsuit sales. Nicole stepped out as a Project Manager for this task. During the task, Carey came out an idea to design another pink swimwear that fit for gay group. I was so shocked when see Carey wearing the pink man swimsuit. Only one word in playing in my mind that is “Oh My God”! Again, Arrow team loses because of the weak sales in mean swimsuit. In the boardroom, Mr. DT thinks the men swimsuit design is the risk that cannot work. Although the swimsuit that designed by Carey is the disaster of this lose, yet if that time the PM has sharp judgment, she would disapproved Carey’s design. A PM should able to point out the flaws and lead their team well. Of course, Carey also seems so excited with his own design and did not take note to the feedback from his team toward his design. End up, he is fired for the lose of the second tasks.

The third task is bit different, as the previous winning team is exempt from this task. So, the Arrow team is now split into two teams. Aaron has stepped out as a PM and MR. DT has chosen Michelle as the other PM. Aaron has chosen James and Stephanie and make up a strong team. This task is about conducting a tour guide and rating review will be made to judge for the winning team. James came out with a great idea to hire the Lakers girl. Meanwhile, Aaron has sent James went out for a survey for the tour bus. This is really works and James observation is very strong as he realized that jokes that not funny from the bus driver should removed off. By the way, he also thinks of providing refreshment to the tour passenger. For Michelle team, she is play safe when decision making. Obviously, she did not want to bear much for the responsibilities that might drag her to the boardroom if she is lost. End of this task, Aaron team won with the huge rating of 82% VS Michelle team 58%. In the boardroom, Michelle wishes to quit and her decision has shocked everyone in the boardroom. I hate quitter as well, I truly believed that no matter in what situation, we should never give up.

The fourth task is regarding promoting sales for the fast food restaurant. After so long, this is the first task win by Arrow team. They have created a brand new receipe called Chicken Tortilla Rice. Arrow team are really passion in promoting the new receipe, and thus as the result they win Kinetic team by 36%. It’s a quite huge win! In the boardroom, most team player in Kinetic also blamed Marisa for their lost. Thus, Marisa is fired by Mr. DT for this task.

The sixth task is promoting Priceline.com. Which teams that get the more sign up for Priceline.com is the winner. Again, Kinetic team, PM Aimee gave her team zero direction. Arrow team did lots in marketing; they spread this awareness to public via flyers and advertisement in the mall. Great jobs! All the team players did poured lots of effort in this task, and Arrow team won this week. This week, Aimee from Kinetic team is get fired.

The 7th task is about luxury and the team was asked to create a special showroom for Lexus and there will be a survey to rate the event. During the discussion, the PM of Arrow team was busy writing “essay” on the whiteboard, this scene really make me LOL. Yet, the team members really work hard and co-operate very well in this task. As the result, Arrow got high rate of 94/100, whereas Kinetic get the rate of 84/100. During the boardroom, Derek has spoke something he should not, because of his unprofessional behaviour, he get fired. As the losing Kinetic team, Jennifer was blamed and fired.
